Our story
Hi, I'm Dr. Camille Bentley
Founder of the Hands for Health Foundation.

Dr. Camille Z. Bentley
DO, MPH, FACOFP
Professor Emerita, Rocky Vista University. President and Founder, Hands for Health Foundation.
Thank you for visiting the Hands for Health Foundation website and your support on our mission to provide health care access and medical supplies to those people living in the developing world.
For over twenty years I have volunteered in health care with indigenous and economically disadvantaged populations across Central America, South America, Kenya, and Nepal, working alongside medical students and healthcare professionals.
The Hands for Health experience has truly molded me as a physician, educator and most importantly as a human being.
In my clinical practice I serve low-income Denver patients on Medicaid and Medicare, where communication and empathy matter as much as any procedure. The international work has made me better at both.
Overseas outreach broadens clinical skills for trainees in a way nothing else does. Students see advanced disease presentations they would rarely encounter at home, and they learn to exercise clinical judgement without the advanced diagnostics they have come to rely on.
I think of it as a triple win: patients receive care, clinicians develop their skills, and everyone involved reconnects with the fundamental purpose of medicine.
My legacy will be to have these students one day continue as physicians in the same capacity.
